It's not all in Copenhagen, folks.
Dec. 21st, 2009 05:01 pmWhile our esteemed leaders attempt to hammer out a deal in Copenhagen, with protesters and and other lobbyists trying to pressure them one way or the other, there's actually something we regular people can do.
Actually, it is really, really simple. It's what you learned in kindergarten and grade 1 and 2. That is: don't litter. Don't feed the wildlife. Avoid washing your car in the street so that all those lovely chemicals won't go (straight) into your river. Take showers instead of baths every day. Turn off the lights and TV when you leave the room. Wear a sweater instead of cranking up the heat. These are all small, tiny, almost insignificant acts. But once you magnify them by millions of people, the effect is huge.
That being said, we still have to do things about industry pollution and so on, but it starts with the people: with us.
