Jun. 26th, 2011 03:01 pmRIP, C-4 italics nib, you have served me well.

In case you wondered, I am ANGRY with the tilde there. (Or flourish, or whatever it is), because !@##% that's exactly the best stroke that the nib can make and it can be done beautifully, but of course I've overloaded the pen there with ink, haven't I? Oh yes, and now it's a stumpy weird mark. *impotent flail*
I am muffled today in real-life (owing to a cold and having lost my voice) and so in compensation I have swung into answering support requests WITH A VENGEANCE and so on. Because I can actually articulate myself there.

Date: Jun. 27th, 2011 01:59 am (UTC)Also do you know how to use ink cartridges? I don't and I am rather hopelessly slashing them open and pouring them into my inkwell. Oops?

Date: Jun. 27th, 2011 02:02 am (UTC)alas, I do not. I just use dip-pens - but as long as ink => inkwell it's good? *doesn't know*

Date: Jun. 27th, 2011 02:13 am (UTC)You get more dippy nibs there? I tried looking for nibs here and they had the fountain pen sort.

Haha, my Chinese writing in the first place was rather awful, so I don't think my calligraphy would be any better >.<
Yeah, you can buy them at craft stores and art shops - most of the big stores here just have pens which are chisel-shaped with corresponding ink-cartridge-thingies already installed.

Date: Jun. 27th, 2011 02:33 am (UTC)I am sadly one of those people whose handwriting is impeccable in every script except English. (Oops.) People use this as proof that I am a robot.
That's the thing about art shops, I do not actually want the fountain pen types! They confuse me. Will you be getting a new dippy pen then? You should try Gothic script! It's fun and has lines :D

Date: Jun. 27th, 2011 02:45 am (UTC)I have seen your lovely calligraphy in other languages but your English letters look fine to me! Also, bot!
Aww. Yeah, there is this nice art store near downtown which has a nice selection of nibs, so I will go down and see. Technically I do have other square-tipped nibs that would work, but they're too wide and all the letters you write are a mile high :P
Gothic looks so complicated! I have...ah, copperplate, italics, and foundational, all of which are simple. I think I will take a stab (and check out that calligraphy pen for the fifth time *cough*) after tomorrow. *kicks her exam*
