completely gratuitous icon post
Oct. 21st, 2013 04:39 pmSO I have new icons! It was a long weary journey, involving a trek across the great white expanses of Google and climbing through LiveJournal comms.
Anyway so I found a HP text icon that I liked! This is a little weird but I love the books, I'm fannish about them, I'm reading fic, but I've never actually watched the movies. I like the gifs and stuff! But the actors don't really represent what I love about them. Thus the perilous journey across Google, since there are absolute buckets of actor and visual icons, but few text.
Anyway, because I love them, Malfoy and Hermione both, and it's such a perfect encapsulation of their relationship. Also I love that Hermione knows exactly where to dig.
Because I love Sidonie's cool and levelheaded response, and also it makes me laugh whenever I see it:
And the scene in Justice where she tells Barquiel L'Envers (and everyone else) to sit down and calm down. (No but Barquiel, seriously, what is your problem?)
And then while I was digging for HP icons, I came across Abhorsen icons! This one is apparently from one of the covers and it's gorgeous in the "can I live there" landscape sort of way.
Look at that! Wouldn't you want to live there too? (OK, OK, assuming someone would deliver food and everything. And give you a flushing toilet.) Also includes the Disreputable Dog, and you can totally see Lirael's sword hanging at her hip! I love how these covers reflect the characters within the book.

Hee! Actually now that you say that, I think I understand why they're both sans-serif--it's easier to read. I like being able to tell what my icons say without squinting too much ;) That said, given a preference, I'd go for serif fonts. They're just so...so perfect. *has typography flail*
