Torture.

I have been researching torture, and it makes (simultaneously) fascinating and horrifying reading. It makes me mad to read about how people were tortured for things that they couldn't help, for sundry stupid reasons like differing religions, for the mistakes of their parents--torture in the past.

But it just makes me sick to see that it's still going on. In the Western world, no less.
