Now reading Magicians of Caprona and finally getting into it. It always takes me a bit to get used to new characters - I hate it when sequels/series have new protagonists!

I have listened to this version of The Water is Wide a lot (a lot.) You know, when you suddenly listen to a song and then you must play it over and over and over again? For days? I love it so much. All of their voices and interpretations, but especially, I think, the middle singer. The lyrics probably help. And then the trio all together. I am undone.

It is almost impossible to find anything about the singers online; I can't tell if I'm finding the same people, and also I want to know if they did another collaboration.

Yeah, that is the one issue with the Chrestomanci Quartet, that he is the only character that really appears in all of them. Magicians of Caprona was probably my least favorite one tbh. I remembered the other one I liked most though--Witch Week!

You know, when you suddenly listen to a song and then you must play it over and over and over again?

*one month and counting of playing "Hamilton" almost nonstop* Yep, I can relate to that! :p Although with individual songs in the past as well.

Thanks for the song rec.

I'm gonna read Witch Week (oops, typoed Witch Weekly there first) next! I quite liked Caprona though it took so long to get into it. I think it's given me a bad association with Punch & Judy though *shudder*

Hee, I saw your entry! (it's still open in a tab...) It seems like the musical is taking fandom by storm!

It's definitely hard to get used to a new main character's voice when you're used to a certain voice to help you explore that universe. :D Sometimes I like having a new protagonist, and some I don't--just depends.

And, wow, those are some talented singers on that track! All have such clear, ringing voices. This is definitely one of those songs you can listen to for hours. :)

Yes, exactly! I tend to like the character, and when they sort of get sidelined it's frustrating; I've read sequels where I couldn't enjoy them because I was just looking for mentions of another character.

Right? I love their voices so much. *sighs enviously*
