Today a dead stinkbug fell out of the washing machine as I was unloading it. I definitely screamed and flailed. This has never happened before and I dearly hope NEVER WILL AGAIN

I am telling you all this to spread the pain around and also to let you know to beware of washing machines. But you knew that already.

I once found a live frog in the toilet bowl. I re-homed it in the garden.

Oh my god! Did you just...reach in and grab it or something? I'm torn between pity for you and pity for the frog. I'm glad you got it out into the garden ok.

Frogs around there don't have many predators so it seemed unperturbed. I don't remember how I got it out but if it happened now I'd use an empty flowerpot from the garden (or a plastic food container from the recycling) to fish it out and transport it so I probably did that. There was no drama. I've also done drama-free bat removal from my dad's bedroom, lol. They don't have rabies over here so they're much less scary than in some places.

Ah, glad that it was drama-free! I think I'd have been paralyzed...I almost never see frogs and would have completely blanked on what to do, lol. I am not good at the critter handling bits.

Oh no! Your laundry! :(

Yesterday, the biggest cockroach ever was just chilling on the wall of the laundry room. I kept worrying that it would try to hitch a ride in my clothes, but it had its own agenda and stayed on the wall.

I'm not actually sure what a stinkbug is! But it doesn't sound like something you want drowning all over your laundry.

EWWWW I hate cockroaches so much. I'm glad it stayed on the wall away from you!

It's a bug about the size of a fingernail, kind of with a shield-ish back? Brown/grey. I am not sure I recommend googling because every time I google bugs, I live to regret it. (Most days I'm very glad the internet has so much information and pictures of everything. For bugs, AAAAA)

Me, too! As unhappy as I was to see it on the wall, I was very glad for it to stay there. :\

I used Wikipedia to look up stinkbugs, on the assumption that it would give me only one or two pictures and plenty of text. It turns out I knew the stinkbug by sight, but not by name! But most of the ones I've seen around here are about twice the size of a fingernail, not counting legs. Tiny little heads and big awkward shield-shaped bodies. So I learned something new today!

Yeah! The legs are so...fragile for it it seems. And I'm sorry your stinkbugs are bigger :( Ugh I can deal with smaller ones way better than monster ones.

Thanks! Yeah, I think it as probably dead when it got in...at least I hope so, I don't think death by drowning is very nice. Anyway their legs snag pretty easily on cloth so I imagine it probably just got picked up accidentally...somehow...I'm going to try not to think to much about how...
