Something I hate: organ music. Hate is too strong, but I am really not a fan. Every time A Mighty Fortress Is Our God comes up iTunes I have to hastily change the track.

Something I love: oranges. Especially the easy to peel ones like mandarins.

Somewhere I've been: Ontario. Ottawa also, though that was a bit of an unscheduled detour, i.e. I arrived and found my connecting flight got cancelled and the next plane was the next morning and so I visited Parliament Hill, and got drenched in a sudden thunderclap of rain that cut the sightseeing short, and saw a double rainbow.

Somewhere I'd like to go: Orkney Islands. The islands are a bit lower in priority (there are a lot of places that are easier for me to go to than them) but I'd love to go. This is totally partly motivated by the whole Arthurian stories connection, but I also badly want to go to PEI for similar reasons.

Someone I know: A girl I knew in highschool. Pretty quiet, very diligent - haven't talked to her in ages but a really nice person.

A film I like: I have watched so few films I don't know if I've actually watched one that starts with O.

A book I like: oh man, I had to look at a list of good books starting with O on GoodReads (FEH!) to even think of one. Er. I liked Over Sea, Under Stone.

I generally like the Hammond organ jazzy sort of organ music but I'm much more selective about church organ music.

Yeah, I've listened to baroque organ music (oh Bach) and modern classical organ music and, er, neither really appeals.

I can alphabetize things for you! ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ (being a library assistant makes you develop a sixth sense for which letter goes where, I swear).

Alas, my youthful urge to struggle round the Orkneys visiting lumps of rock arranged into patterns by long-dead humans seems to have dissipated. To be fair to myself, I have seen significant quantities of other rly old rockpiles. BUT NOT AN AURORA YET, which is my one surviving lifelong ambition, heh.

You can give me a letter if you want and I'll think about it but I don't guarantee I'll meme. :-)

Well, when you put it that way, it does seem a little less appealing. But then all tourism is that! In fact, all human activity is that! (I remember one friend going "if you think about it, skiing is really just sliding down a hill on two sticks" - said friend was competitive skier). The OTHER half of my desire to go is LANDSCAPE. Yes.

Awww. Next time! Or you could move to Northern Canada, that should place you latitudinally in likely aurora spots! :D

Do mandarins count as Oranges? I always thought they were a distinct kind of fruit.

Cursory google suggests that you are right, they're 'orange-like' but not of the same family (wait, I can never remember - kingdom phylum class genus...order oh forget it) anyway they look like oranges! That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :P

Library of Parliament?

Did you make it that far when you visited the Hill? It's a magnificent building and well-worth taking the actual tour to see.

No, I don't think so - I walked around to the Parliament itself and looked over the river, and then the skies got really dark and it started raining. I have to visit Ottawa for real sometime!
