I went to three separate schools for elementary, and they were very far apart from one another--from Toronto to a itsy-bitsy town in the Midwest to another major Canadian city, with a stint in Montreal for kindergarten.
I don't think it changed my view on humanity all that much, to be honest. I don't make "BFFs!", either, and I remember being surprised that people didn't just go home after school; they stayed with friends? It was a revelation.
