I read A Doll's House today.

At first I was so happy that there was a pretty domestic scene with none of the ugliness that often comes in the literature we're assigned to read. And then there was a dawning horror and disgust at what had previously been endearments (all those references to skylarks and birds and she's chained, really; it got sickening). And Helmer, oh, you are so thick. THINK, YOU FOOL, BEYOND YOURSELF! It really is amazing how much Ibsen could eke out of what is quite an ordinary events - taking out a loan, getting a job for another. I really like that Nora finally gets fed up and does actually leave; this is a surprisingly satisfying play (do not speak to me about The Crucible; I could hardly make it through it without wanting to scream at the characters for their simple and unimaginable stupidity and horridness and nastiness.)

I think I'm getting addicted to My Little Pony.
