1. RL explosion. Specifically, yesterday I was nearly convinced my academic career was over (disappointed in self, etc; slightly melodramatic but, uh, it did mean a diploma/no diploma). People are nicer than they seem, apparently. Mid-day breakdown.

2. Weirdly interestingly the DW support board is getting more requests. Although it looks like it's quieting down.

3. Notifications on LJ for tracking are messed. IDK what's going on with Yandex and searching; there may or may not be a problem there.

4. Bruising from dive yesterday. I expect my friend has even worse ones, though ;)

5. Why must some subjects require so much technical vocabulary? (Answer: because precision is good in science.) Still is not helpful for comprehension. In mid-class today, I realized that science is possibly the field with the most prescriptivist language.

6. The dictator Sulla gives me a faint ray of hope for dictatorships. If it happened once, why not again? (Took over Rome twice. Then retired into private life.)

7. Haven't done any writing in ages. Fiction, that is. But the Narrator of My Day has returned with a vengeance and with added commentary on everything.

8. I read The Exiled Queen. Han and even Raisa grew on me, despite the eyerolling in the beginning of the book. I think Chima relies too heavily on some tropes, but now that she's fleshed out the world, it is much better and I am desperately awaiting the next book. The one that's out in six months.
