I think I'd assumed at the time that I accidentally hit a keyboard shortcut on my ergonomic keyboard, as the keyboard was new at the time and I'd had a run of hitting control when I meant shift and getting keyboard shortcuts when I wanted capital letters. I was not expecting random HTML, that's for certain.
