I didn't know you were from AZ! It's a huge birding mecca, and the southernness means you get the proximity to more biodiverse areas since you're approaching the tropics, lots of Mexican species that are rare here might spill over sometimes, plus the whole microclimate of the mountains. It was such a change in climate and ecology from what I'm used to and super cool!
