The sheer number of historical figures I recognize in The Eight is making me want to jump up and down. I mean, the author even was able to include Bach's visit to Frederick the Great! How neat is that? [and then Google searching the characters and discovering that all the main characters are real--that's the thrill of historical fiction; the knowledge that the astonishing characters you read about are real.]
