Mar. 13th, 2010 11:57 pmI find I have a horrible tendency to procrastinate (and I must say, I'm getting better at it--there are eight minutes until March 14th, which means I'll break my resolution to write everyday.) Happily, though, here's my tiny post today:
I rewatched The Great Escape (fast-forwarding some of it) and I still can't get over the ingenuity of some of the people. I remember loving the novel, and also The Count of Monte-Cristo for that--I actually didn't get very far with the book itself (hey, try reading that huge tome of a book!), but was fascinated with the prisoner's incredible use of everything they had at hand--ash, stone, unraveled blanket. I think it's because when we run out of things, the normal reaction is to panic and stop the project until we get supplies. They had to make do with what they had.
