The reason is you are tumbled so fast from one universe to another, sometimes it gets...confusing. I read The Double Helix, then Devil in Winter, then Once Bitten, Twice Shy, all at full-speed. I have been enjoying my Christmas break. I read The Double Helix, which is written by one of the scientists that found the structure of DNA (Watson, as it happens), set in 1950's England and the mad race that was the search for the shape of the DNA molecule. Then I read Lisa Kleypas' Devil in Winter, historical romance set in (*sigh*) Regency England (why, why, why do they always choose Regency?), which wasn't bad. I started Once Bitten, Twice Shy, right after that--it's a vampire-and-assassinations type of book--very fascinating--but the action moved so fast I had to reread it to understand. I get the feeling I'll accidentally start mushing the plots later. Reviews soon. I think.
