Writer's Block: R/evolutionary war

I think it'd be inevitable. The thing is, I don't think they'd be exactly the same as us--that would be a huge coincidence if that happened. No, I think that the succeeding species would have to be radically different.
And who knows if they'll learn? We're leaving huge traces of our lives: from the purely physical occupation of the space to writings about life. I think that the succeeding species might have trouble deciphering some of the thoughts, or maybe even dismiss our weird hieroglyphics as random squiggles (like we decide bird-song is "not communication or language"). If they do decipher our writings and thoughts, I really wonder what they'll think of us. It's definitely an interesting jumping-off point for a futuristic novel, at any rate.
