I HAVE STARTED A MANUSCRIPT INVOLVING DRAGONS & COURIERS AND IT'S GOING TO BE AT 60,000 by SEPTEMBER 30, 2011, AND I SHALL WRITE DAILY.

There. Feel free to bug me upon the subject. I'm hoping public humiliation of forcing myself to admit I failed, oh horrors will be motivation for that dragging middle bit.

Not always, but this kind of thing can be helpful.

The last time I finished a novel-length manuscript (still stuck at first draft, more or less, gathering the proverbial dust in a drawer), I made a similar promise on LJ, then made sure I also posted a daily and cumulative word-count.

Whehter you do that or not, I wish you luck and would be very interested in seeing the results.

Now I'm intrigued. What is your story about?

And, assuming the plot doesn't take a strange turn at some point in the writing (maybe not zombies but you never know), sure!

It was a fantasy also, taking a young girl (and her old, not entirely nice, male friend) to an alien world via an amulet that might be magic, might be high technology.

Adventure and growth ensue. Nothing too original, but something I'd hoped would please (in particular) my then 16-year-old niece who had discovered the joys of Doctor Who.

Some of it I thought was very good, other bits, not so much. Now my niece is about to turn 21 and I don't know if I'll ever bother going back to it.

But as you said, "you never know", and some of those bits were pretty good, damn it!

*looks up ommwriter* Sounds nifty. If nothing, their website is very smart-looking. I'm using 750words, since it makes you write daily and has a lovely, clean, no-distractions writing screen.
