Yeah, the social justice/important message part is okay, but it can't be the whole book. Like I want to enjoy some element of it, care a lot about a character, or really like the writing, or something. I hate it when people rec things by just listing how the protagonist is disabled and brown, or something. That's great but is the book any good???? And the fact the message was still muddly got my goat!!

Hahaha I'll extract enjoyment out of books one way or the other!!
