it's been awhile since i've read them, but i remember really enjoying the series. it's like an AU version of the present where people take literature very seriously. i recommend them to folks who are fairly well read and love reading and have some kind of passing familiarity with the classics. i think given your reading habits you would enjoy them. and the protagonist Thursday is very interesting because she is kind of the classic noir detective, she just happens to be female. the second book is very cool, where Thursday starts reading herself into books and teaming up with Miss Havisham and other literary characters.
